Question: How do we practically use the Armour of God?

Answer:

I have attempted to ‘distill’ down an answer to keep things simple and easy to grasp.

DEFINING WORDS:

Salvation includes preservation, healing, soundness, provision, deliverance, protection.

Righteousness is the state of your new being; truth is knowledge of God’s will and ways.

Peace is knowing that through the Blood God is at peace with you.

Faith is a daily activity in facing life; sword of the Spirit is for offensive warfare against the principalities and powers.

********

APPLY DAILY:

Live daily with the awareness of the things that are yours in salvation, use them when needed for victory throughout your day. Victory can be defined as overcoming the world, the flesh and the devil.

Helmet of salvation. That you have ‘at the ready’: healing, preservation, soundness for mind and emotions, deliverance and provision.

Breastplate of Righteousness: you have been made righteous with the Righteousness (rightness) of God – live it out in your daily life

Loins girt with Truth: you have found or are finding the REAL TRUTH about God, Satan, and yourself…..live in it. If you do the Truth you are My Disciples in deed (notice these are two separate words: in and deed. That means doing! You do the Truth in your daily deeds).

Feet shod with Peace: receive and live in peace with God, resist condemnation, and live at peace with all men as much as is possible. Share the Gospel of Reconciliation – that God is not made at men but has reconciled them to Himself through the Cross.

Taking Shield of Faith: none of the above will benefit you if you do not mix the truth of them with faith: the Word did not profit not being mixed with faith in them that heard it (Hebrews). If you hear what I have explained to you and you don’t practice it, you are in unbelief and you won’t be living in the Whole Armour of God.

Wielding the Sword of the Spirit: the Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Speak it to move mountains and call things that be not as though they were; to resist the devil: even Jesus said: “It is written”.

Each piece is in reality an ATTRIBUTE of the Christian Life.

This is a LIFE WE LIVE.
In Him we live, and move and have our being. Acts 17:28.

Paul then points out that this armour is essential to pray:

Verse 18: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
