The Law given to Moses could not give the human heart the nature to walk in it. Jesus ‘fulfilled the righteous requirements’ of that Law. Why? To show there was a ‘higher’ Law by which He operated. A higher Law that came from a higher nature: the Law of Life. Paul calls that law, “The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus”. Jesus, through that higher Law of Life ‘condemned sin in the flesh’. The law of sin and death never operated IN Him while he was on this earth. He overcame it in His human flesh.
Those ‘IN CHRIST” have the same Law of Life in them. Now they also can ‘condemn sin in the flesh’, i.e. “Law of sin and death, you are not operating in my body! I have the greater Law in me, the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus!” In this teaching, we look at these verses in Romans where Paul speaks of ‘condemning sin in the flesh’ that the righteousness of the Law (including healing and wellness) might be fulfilled in those who ‘walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.
